BAPA Announces 2008-2009 Leadership

Congers, NY. (February 23, 2008) – Murad Husain, a New Jersey Pharmacist and pharmaceutical industry executive, was sworn-in as President of the Bangladeshi American Pharmacists Association (BAPA).

"I am looking forward to working with all members during the next two years. I believe, we need to transform BAPA to a professional organization that equally attracts Bangladeshi Pharmacy graduates as well as the US Pharmacy graduates of Bangladeshi descendents" Mr. Husain said in his inaugural speech held during the Annual Dinner on February 23, 2008 at The Sterling, Bethpage, New York.

Mr Awal Siddiqui, who served as the President during the past two year term, congratulated the recently elected leaders of BAPA. "I will be happy to work with the new committee during their term if needed" said Mr. Siddiqui.

Murad Husain was joined by Sharif Ahmed (Vice President), Shah Rashid (General Secretary), and Abdus Salam (Treasurer). In addition, Abul Azad, Mohammad Daud Bhuiyan, Mohammed Nurul Haque, Mohammad Akhter Hossain and Abdur Rashid were sworn-in to the two-year term as the Members of the Executive Committee. These leaders assumed their new roles on February 23, 2008.
